 (g) Wiener Dog Rally Event.  On Thursday, July 9, 2015, the Station will conduct qualifying heats of all Dogs registered for the Weiner Dog Rally.  Eligible entrants may enter as described in subparagraph (b) (3) above.  All participating Dog owners must sign a release and affidavit of liability at the Rally to participate, as further described in subparagraph (i) below. Participants are responsible for keeping their Dog in the designated holding areas when not racing. Failure to do so may result in disqualification and owner may be asked to take his/her Dog out of the venue. Owner(s) are responsible for all basic needs of their Dog including: disposal of waste and supplying food/water if necessary. Failure to do so may result in disqualification and owner may be asked to take his/her Dog out of the venue. Owner(s) are responsible for behavior of themselves and

dogs including but not limited to biting, viciousness, and poor sportsmanship. Failure to do so may result in disqualification and owner may be asked to take his/her Dog out of the venue.

(h)  Wiener Dog Rally Races.  Up to twelve (12) Dogs at a time will race (number of qualifying heats dependent on number of entrants), from which the fastest Dogs of each qualifying heat will advance to a final heat of up to twelve (12) Dogs. During the heat races, one (1) owner will be placed at the starting line with the wiener Dog and a second person (owner must bring second person) will be placed at the finish line. When the race begins, signaled by a cue from the announcer, the individual on the start line will release the Dog. The individual on the finish line will encourage the Dog to run to them in any way that they wish (i.e. wave a toy, call the Dog, have a treat) but cannot cross the line or move toward the Dog in any way. No noisemakers (i.e. whistles, horns) are permitted. The individual standing at the starting line with the Dog is also not allowed to move from the starting line (owners are not allowed to run with the Dogs, unless the race officials give permission) until the racing heat is finished. The wiener Dog race will be approximately 60-100 feet in length, rain or shine. Any Dog not at the start line at the appointed time will be disqualified from competing in the race. The Dog may also be disqualified if the Dog’s name is called and the Dog is not in the holding area. This applies even if the Dog was initially checked in on time but not present when needed for the race. Each heat will be judged by a panel of three (3) judges comprised of Station and Sponsor personnel based on when the Dogs completely cross the finish line. On Thursday, July 9, 2015, the judges will determine two (2) winners from the final heat based on the criterion set forth above. The decisions of the judges shall be final.

(i)   All Wiener Dog Rally and Wiener Dog Race participants and alternates must sign and return a liability release, indemnification, and affidavit of eligibility, certifying that his/her participating Dog is current on all shots including a Rabies vaccination, and proof that his/her Dog is purebred Dachshund, either via AKC/UKC paperwork or through a letter from a licensed veterinarian, which must be received by Monday, July 6, 2015 (for participants selected via online entry) or by Friday, July 10, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. PDT (for participants selected via the Fan Favorite Contest or the Wiener Dog Rally).

(j)   If a Wiener Dog Race participant cannot be notified within two (2) days or does not timely sign and return the liability release, indemnification, and affidavit of eligibility, and proof that his/her Dachshund is purebred, then the Dog’s spot in the race and prize will be forfeited, and the spot in the race and prize will be awarded to the first alternate. An additional alternate Dog will then be randomly selected from among remaining valid online entries.
