“LIVE’s Hollywood Escape” CONTEST RULES
Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be Washington state residents who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the KOMO 4 Television viewing area.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Media of Seattle, LLC, and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station KOMO 4 (the “Station”), KUNS, KPLZ, La-Z-Boy Furniture , Disney and ABC Domestic Television, The Douglas Group, Inc. and UPICKEM, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Only one (1) qualifier per household per day of the contest, and one (1) grand prize winner per household.
How to Enter
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per IP address per day.
(b) To enter, watch LIVE with Kelly & Michael on KOMO 4, weekdays from Thursday, February 6, 2014 through Wednesday, February 19, 2014 between 9:00am and 10:00am PST on KOMO Channel 4, and look for a special graphic to appear on-air with the La-Z-Boy logo, the KOMO 4 logo and a daily word. Then, each weekday during the Contest Period, log onto www.komonews.com/lazyboy to complete the online entry form with your name, address, phone, age, and correct word for that day and submit. No mechanically produced or completed entries will be accepted.
(c) The contest starts on Thursday, February 6, 2014 and ends on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 (the “Contest Period”). Entries must be received by Station by 11:00am PST each weekday during the Contest Period to qualify for the daily drawing held each weekday at noon. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction. Due to breaking news, Live with Kelly and Michael may be pre-empted and NOT air.
(d) One (1) daily qualifier will be drawn each weekday during the Contest Period, for a total of ten (10) daily qualifiers. Remaining valid entries will not carry over to the next daily qualifier drawing. On Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 12:30pm PST one (1) winner will be selected by random drawing from among the ten (10) daily qualifiers.
(e) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, incorrect, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.
The Prize
1. Each of the ten (10) daily qualifiers will receive a LIVE with Kelly and Michael gift bag valued at $30.00. One (1) grand prize winner will receive a trip for two (2) to Los Angeles, California to LIVE’s “After Oscar Show” from the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center on March 3, 2014 with an approximate retails value of $2,500.00. The trip package includes round trip coach airfare for two (2) between Seattle and Los Angeles, hotel accommodations for two (2) nights (standard room, double occupancy), pre-tipped car service to/from LA area airport/hotel, 1x $250.00 Visa Gift Card, and two (2) VIP tickets to the LIVE “After Oscar Show”. The prize is subject to airline and hotel standard terms and conditions. Winner and guest must be able to travel March 1-3. 2014. Taping schedule subject to change. The Station and sponsors are not responsible in the event the flight is cancelled or postponed. Alcoholic beverages and gratuity are not included.. Certificate holder must indicate his or her intention to pay for a stay/meal using the hotel certificate at the time a reservation is made and must present the certificate at check in/seating, together with a credit card to pay for any additional charges accrued. The winner and his/her guest must travel together on the same itinerary. The trip is subject to reservation, and must be taken between March 1st, 2014 and March 3rd, 2014. The trip package does not include any other meals, beverages, other transportation, gratuities, trip cancellation insurance, baggage fees, miscellaneous airline fees, excursions, entertainment, hotel room service, laundry service, merchandise, souvenirs, local and long distance telephone calls or service charges, or any other expenses. .
2. Qualifers and the winner will be notified by email. Qualifiers and winner must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within twenty four (24) hours of notification. Qualifiers and winner may select one of two ways to receive daily prizes after completed paperwork is received:By mail or schedule an appointment to pick up in person at Fisher Plaza, Seattle.All persons traveling on the trip must be 18 years of age or over, unless travelers under 18 are accompanied by at least one adult who is the parent or legal guardian of all of the minors and children under 10 years are not permitted. All persons traveling on the trip must also sign and return a release which must be returned with the winner’s release and affidavit of eligibility within the time frame specified above. All persons have a valid picture identification to claim prize tickets and enter the venue. Winner(s) must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
3. If a qualifier or winner cannot be notified within 24 hours, or does not timely sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be forfeited, and the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner randomly selected from among remaining valid and correct entries.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. Each qualifier and winner is responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules. Winner must sign a W-9 form.
6. Only one prize will be awarded per household.
7. Sinclair Media of Seattle, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
8. Sinclair Media of Seattle, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Media of Seattle, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
1. Odds of qualifying depend on the number of entries received. Odds of winning are 1 in 10 qualifiers.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at KOMO 4 TV, 140 4th Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109 and on komonews.com/tv.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to Attn: LIVE Hollywood KOMO 4 TV, 140 4th Avenue North, Seattle, WA 90109 by February 24, 2014.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Media of Seattle, LLC, LazyBoy Furniture, Live with Kelly and Michael, ABC Domestic Television, The Douglas Group, Inc. and UPICKEM accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information. Station is not responsible for any computer or electronic malfunction, server unavailability, technological glitch, or human error relating to this contest and/or the use of short-code.
6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
